The Modern Pants are a Berlin group from New Zealand, or is that a New Zealand group from Berlin? Although all band members have long-established and eclectic musical careers in New Zealand, they only first all played together in Berlin in 2004.
Initially including solo indie artist Sandra Bell (who is now back in New Zealand), The Modern Pants consists of Daphne Owers (guitar, vox), Ozi Bzy (bass and DJ) and Johannes Contag (drums and wheels). Ozi Bzy and Johannes Contag are also known to Berlin audiences through their performances with the bands Cloudboy and The Spotting Knives.
The Modern Pants gave their first public performance at ‘im Licht’ in der KuLe, Berlin-Mitte in January 2005 and regularly perform in bars and clubs around Berlin.
